"The inauguration of routes like the new Bajío-Ontario route not only strengthens Volaris' presence and position as the main Mexican airline in the U.S. market, but also brings important advantages for a large number of customers on both sides of the border," said Holger Blankenstein, Chief Commercial Officer of Volaris.

Added Alan D. Wapner, President of the Ontario International Airport Authority, "Volaris' decision to add León flights is further evidence of the strong market served by ONT. León will become the 16th nonstop destination from ONT as we work with our airline partners to grow our airport one flight at a time. We are pleased to note that this summer ONT's passenger airlines will offer 8 percent more airlines seats than last summer."

Other recently added or announced service at ONT includes nonstop flights to Dallas Love Field by Southwest Airlines and Chicago O'Hare International by American Airlines.
